Avaleha is also often regarded as Lehya. It is semi-solid preparation of ayurvedic medicine. The preparation of Avaleha is done by adding sugar, jaggery or sugar candy in desired quantities and then boiled with prescribed herbal juices. Avaleha works as an immunity booster and it is made from not less than 45 ayurvedic ingredients. This ayurvedic product is mostly used as a nutritional supplement owing to the fact that it is completely safe to use. The consistency of avaleha is neither too hard nor like a thick fluid. It should be stored in porcelain or glass jars or a metal container that does not react with it. The use of avaleha must be done within a time span of 1 year as it cannot be stored for a period higher than a year. The major constituent of avaleha is amla which helps in boosting immunity and provides strength to the body in fighting against the deadliest of diseases.
This ayurvedic mixture can be licked by tongue as it has a slightly thicker and sticky consistency. Sugar, jaggery, honey, etc are added in desirable quantities for preparing avaleha.
